The English translation is: the Traveler has tales to tell.

Part of the joy of being a traveling salesman is that, quite honestly, I get to travel. People ask me if I ever get tired of traveling and my simple answer is, “no.” Traveling affords me the opportunity to see places I have never seen, meet people I would otherwise never have met, and gain new perspectives.

Traveling has opened my eyes literally and figuratively to a world of amazing possibilities and perspectives. Selling has made the adventure possible. Instead of looking upon travel as drudgery, or a necessary evil, I consider travel to be, in many ways, the essence of who I have become. I am the sum total of my journeys, I like to say.

Long ago I told my boys that when I was growing up in the business world I always thought the one who died with the most toys wins. I was wrong. It is the one who dies with the greatest adventures or  most stamps on his or her passport that wins.

Traveling Thoughts is my sales blog about sales observations, business perspectives, lessons learned from encounters along the way, and everything and anything pertaining to sales and travel. Where it will end up I could not begin to tell you?

I hope you will join me on a journey to no where in particular, but everywhere interesting

From Tucson to Tbilisi. It's not the destination. It's the journey.
