Welcome
Success in sales is a journey-not a destination. No one comes out of
the womb a successful salesperson. We are all made over time. For some
of us selling is a discovery or a realization early in life. For others
of us selling occurs as a second profession later in our journey. We
come in all shapes, sizes, colors, and dispositions; no two salespeople
are alike. Each one of us is unique in our own way with one common goal
in mind: successful selling.
This website is dedicated to helping you become a successful
salesperson. Selling is difficult, always has been, always will be. But
extraordinary success in sales is possible. All you need is knowledge,
experience, guidance, and the desire to win. My book, "Traveling
Salesman, The Journey to Success," is a motivational book with a clear
business objective: success in sales. It is not "one more sales book"
about the five easy steps to selling, but rather a sales journey about a
life of selling blessed with trials, tribulations, and lessons learned.
You can read sample chapters under The Journey To section. The book
will be released early in 2009.
Traveling Thoughts is my weekly series about sales observations,
business perspectives, and traveling encounters along the way. I think
you will find this section of interest. As I say, "It's not the
destination, it's the journey." And there are interesting travel and
sales lessons to be learned from a life on the road. I look forward to
your comments.
Your Sales Story is a section dedicated to the stories we tell and the lessons we learn. My hope is that you will share your sales story. I have had visitors from over 35 States and 40 different countries around the globe to this website. I know each and every visitor has an interesting story to tell. I hope that you will share your story with us. The lessons begin with the stories we tell.
The segment entitled, 101 is a bibliography of sales both in writing and image. It is by no means an exhaustive list but rather an illustration of my journey in sales. Perhaps yours is similar? Every book and movie has played a role in my development as a salesperson. I encourage you to add to this list.
In the weeks and months to come I will add new sections to this website with one goal in mind: helping each and every one of us to become increasingly successful sales men and women, whatever and wherever in the world we may be selling.
The secret to success is learning how to do extraordinary things with
ordinary hands.
